The AsiaTEF Dance Competition is structured into four main categories, offering dancers opportunities to compete in both solo and group performance formats.

A. Modern Dance Solo Competition (by Age)

A contemporary solo dance category focusing on creativity, expression, musicality, and stage presence across modern dance styles and age divisions.

B. Ballet Solo Competition (by Grade)

A structured ballet category designed to showcase classical ballet technique, discipline, artistic interpretation, and performance quality through graded divisions.

C. Traditional Dance Solo Competition (by Age)

A cultural dance category celebrating heritage, authenticity, and artistic storytelling through traditional dance forms from different cultures and regions.

D. Dance Group Competitions

A collaborative dance performance category for duets, trios, quartets, and larger groups, focusing on teamwork, synchronization, stage coordination, artistic presentation, and group performance excellence across all dance genres and styles.

1. Duo / Trio / Quartet Dance Competition
Open to dance groups consisting of 2 to 4 performers. This category emphasizes synchronization, teamwork, stage communication, choreography, and collaborative dance performance skills across all dance genres and styles.

2. Large Group Dance Competition (5 Members & Above)
Open to dance groups consisting of 5 or more performers. This category highlights group unity, formation precision, stage coordination, choreography presentation, and overall ensemble performance across any dance genre and style.

DANCE GROUP COMPETITIONS

Overview
The AsiaTEF Dance Group Competition celebrates teamwork, synchronization, creativity, and stage performance through collaborative dance presentations. This category is open to dancers of all ages and welcomes all dance styles and mixed-age group formations.

General Performance Guidelines

☑︎ Any dance genre or performance style permitted
☑︎ Backing music allowed
☑︎ Props and costumes permitted where appropriate
☑︎ Performances should emphasize coordination, creativity, and group presentation

Group Categories
1. Duo / Trio / Quartet
This category is open to groups consisting of:

☑︎ 3 performers (Trio)
☑︎ 4 performers (Quartet)
Performance Duration: Maximum 5 minutes

2. Group Ensemble (5 Performers & Above)
This category is open to larger dance groups consisting of:

Mixed ages and mixed dance styles are allowed.
Performance Duration: Maximum 5 minutes

SCORING



AsiaTEF Elite Championship Award

In each competition category, participants are evaluated based on a standardized scoring system. While multiple award levels will be given, only one Champion will be selected per division within each category.

The Category Champion will be chosen from participants who achieve Elite Gold (90–100 marks) and obtain the highest overall score in their respective division.

Championship Selection Criteria
✅ Only participants awarded Elite Gold (90–100) are eligible for Championship selection
✅ The participant with the highest mark in each division will be declared the Champion
✅ In the event of a tie, the adjudication panel reserves the right to apply performance criteria review for the final decision.

Example of Championship Allocation:
Modern Dance Competition (by Age)
Junior 1: Age 8 and below → 1 Champion

Junior 2: Age 9-12 → 1 Champion
Youth 1: Age 13-15 → 1 Champion
Youth 2: Age 16-18 → 1 Champion
Adult: Age 19 & above → 1 Champion

Summary
Each division within each category will produce one official Champion, recognizing the highest-scoring Elite Gold performer as the top achiever in that division.
